what to expect

preparing for your appointment

when you book with me you will receive an intake form to fill out before the appointment. the form will include questions about injuries, medications, or any significant medical events or conditions that you have.

before we begin the massage i will review your intake form and ask you a few questions that will help me provide care that is safe for you and your body. then we will discuss what you want to get out of the session and work together to establish a plan. our discussion, our plan, and any other information discussed will always remain confidential.

my style of massage therapy is performed on a massage table. after our intake conversation i will step out of the room and give you time to undress to your level of comfort – some clients wear no clothing, some prefer to keep on undergarments or other clothing. it is totally up to you! while you're on the table you will be covered by a sheet at all times and i will uncover only the part of your body that i am working on. your comfort and safety is my main priority and consent is foundational to everything we do. i welcome any and all feedback about your preferences and comfort while you're on the massage table. you are not being annoying or needy when asking for what you want or telling me what you don’t want.

for the health and safety of me, you, and all of my clients i require that all clients wear a mask for the entire duration of our appointment, including in the public shared spaces at CLINIC.

my rates

an explanation of my sliding scale

i dream of a world where health care is accessible to everyone, but know that in reality it is cost-prohibitive to most. in order to combat this while also financially supporting myself, i offer my services on a sliding scale, with additional low-cost options for queer and trans Black, Indigenous, and non-Black people of color.

new client massage: $75 - $100

30 minute head, neck, and shoulder massage: $35 - $50

60 minute massage: $75 - $95

75 minute massage: $90 - $110
90 minute massage: $110 - $130

if paying for massage will have little effect on your personal finances, the top of the sliding scale if for you. if investing in massage is something you have to carefully save and budget for, the bottom of the scale is for you. if you'd like to know more about about the low-cost option for qtbipoc please reach out to me.

additionally, you might consider paying less if you: frequently stress about meeting basic needs and don't always achieve them, have unstable housing, are unemployed or underemployed, qualify for government assistance, are an elder with limited financial support, are denied work due to incarceration history, or are the descendant of enslaved peoples or Indigenous people.

you might consider paying more if you: are comfortably able to meet your basic needs, own or lease a car, own the home you live in or rent a higher-end property, have regular access to healthcare, have investments, retirement accounts, or inherited money, travel recreationally, have access to family money and resources in times of need, or work part time by choice.

i choose for my services to be sliding scale because i believe that what we have and what we lack have nothing to do with what we deserve. i believe that, as a community, we are prosperous. we have the resources to care for ourselves and each other. this sliding scale is an exercise in trust that you will consider your and my needs honestly as well as trust in community care.

cancellation policy

honoring the value of your (and my) time

i know there are times when you might have more on your plate than you have time for. it happens! if you find that you need to cancel or reschedule our appointment, please keep in mind that the more notice you can give the better. as a solo practitioner it can be pretty tough to fill last minute openings, and the loss of income can be difficult to bounce back from.

cancellations with less than 24 hours notice and and no shows will incur a cancellation fee that is that is equal to the low end of the sliding scale for the cancelled service. i appreciate your cooperation and understanding!

it is possible that i will choose to waive the cancellation fee in some situations, which is something i decide on a case by case basis.
